Napa Valley wineries that take walk-ins

Most Napa wineries now work by reservation, which can make a spontaneous afternoon tricky. These tasting rooms say they welcome walk-ins, at least at the bar or when space allows. Weekends and holidays still fill up, so arrive early in the day, keep your group small, and have a second stop in mind. Calling 30 minutes ahead is often all it takes to secure a spot.

24 wineries, ranked by guest rating. Details checked against each winery's own site.

Tips before you go

  • Arrive before noon on weekends; walk-in space goes fast.
  • Groups of two or four are much easier to seat than six or more.
  • A quick call ahead can turn a walk-in into a held table.
