What it's like

Peju is an easy winery to fit into a day. The lowest-priced option is the Taster's Trio at $40 per person, three of the winery's most-loved wines poured by an educator, and walk-ins are welcome. For something longer, the Classic Seated Tasting is $65 and the Heritage Tasting, five red wines across library and reserve selections, is $85.

The Chef's Tasting Experience at $165 per person pairs five wines with food, Thursday through Sunday. A Large Group Tasting for 8 to 14 people is $125 per person, offered at 11 AM and 3 PM daily.

Who it's best for

People who want to pick how much time and money they spend. The Trio suits a short stop between other plans, while the seated and chef options suit couples and groups that want to settle in. Club PEJU members receive complimentary or discounted rates, which can matter if you are with a member.

What to book

Seated tastings run daily from 11 AM to 5 PM. Book on Tock, or phone 707.963.3600. The Trio can be booked online or handled as a walk-in. The Large Group Tasting is only for groups of 8 to 14, so smaller parties should choose one of the other options. Check current availability and times on their tastings page before you go.

Arrange a designated driver, rideshare or tour. Highway 29 is easy to reach, but plan the tasting stops before you set out.

How it fits into a day

Peju sits on St. Helena Highway among other Rutherford stops such as St. Supery, Grgich Hills and Sequoia Grove. The Taster's Trio is a good in-between stop, and the Chef's Tasting can serve as a late lunch before heading to St. Helena for the evening.
