What it's like

Darioush is easy to spot on Silverado Trail, with its columned, Persian-inspired architecture, and it is open every day from 10am to 5pm except major holidays. Inside, the menu of experiences is long. The Signature Tasting is $80 per person, set beneath the pistachio trees, and the Mezze Experience at $100 pairs signature wines with light fare served at the table.

From there the experiences step up: Fine Wines, Artisan Cheeses is $150, By Invitation Only is $250, The Art of Indulgence caviar experience is $300, and the Darius II Library Experience is $375 for members and $425 for non-members. There is also an Estate Bar Tasting, offered seven days a week with no appointment necessary, and a Culture of Wine Experience that combines history, culture, food and wine. Prices for those two are given when you book or visit.

Who it's best for

Visitors who want a memorable setting as much as a tasting, and first-time guests who like the idea of a landmark building. The bar tasting makes it workable for groups that do not plan ahead. The upper-tier experiences are aimed at special occasions and collectors, and they cost accordingly.

What to book

Reserve the seated experiences through the experiences page; choose the Signature Tasting for a classic visit, the Mezze Experience if you want some food, and one of the higher tiers for an occasion. If you only have a short window, the bar is the simple route. Call the winery with questions about groups.

How it fits into a day

Darioush works as a first stop of the day or a mid-afternoon break. Quixote, Odette and Regusci are nearby, and Napa and Yountville both have plenty of dinner options a short drive away.
