Stags' Leap Winery

What it's like

Stags' Leap Winery is centered on the historic Manor House on Silverado Trail, and visits here are built around it. The winery is open Monday through Sunday by appointment only, and it says plainly that it cannot accommodate walk-ins because availability is limited.

Several experiences are offered. The Manor House Experience is a 90-minute tasting for parties of up to six, with start times through the day at 10, 10:30, 1 and 3 daily. The Porch Tasting is a smaller seated session, for up to four guests at 11 and 2 daily. Take the Leap is offered Thursday through Sunday at 1:30 for up to six. There is also Leap of Legend, a limited-run immersive tasting in the Manor House for two to six people that is scheduled to end on October 31, 2026; it runs Monday through Saturday at 10:30 and 1:00 for 90 minutes. Private group tastings for eight to twenty guests are $120 per attendee.

Who it's best for

Small groups and couples who like a bit of history with their wine, and who plan ahead. The limited sizes and set start times make it a better fit for a planned stop than a drop-in. It is less suited to large parties, except through the private group inquiry.

How it fits into a day

With fixed start times, Stags' Leap Winery works best as one of the first two stops of the day. It is close to Silverado Vineyards, Pine Ridge and Clos du Val, so a day on this stretch of Silverado Trail needs very little driving between appointments.
