What it's like

Silverado Vineyards is on Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District and welcomes visitors daily from 10am to 5pm. The tasting menu is clear and easy to choose from. The Silverado Discovery Tasting is the entry point at $50 per guest and takes 45 to 60 minutes. The Estate Collection Experience is $85 and runs 90 minutes.

Two premium sessions are also offered for 90 minutes each: a White Wine and Caviar Experience at $115 ($90 for members), and the Legacy Cabernet Experience at $145 ($120 for members). Cheese and charcuterie boards can be added for $55 to $75. Members get a complimentary tasting for up to four.

Who it's best for

This is a flexible stop for groups of different sizes and appetites. The shorter discovery flight suits people fitting several wineries into one day, while the Legacy Cabernet session suits those who want to focus on the winery's flagship style. The caviar pairing is a good curveball for white wine drinkers. All guests must be 21 or older, so it is not the place for children.

What to book

Reservations are encouraged, and walk-ins are welcome depending on availability. Online bookings close at 3:30pm daily on Tock. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund, and note that parties more than 20 minutes late forfeit their reservation without refund. Groups of seven or more should contact the events team directly. Outside food is not permitted, and filtered water is complimentary.

How it fits into a day

With a tasting that can be as short as 45 minutes, Silverado is easy to slot between longer stops. It sits within a few minutes of Pine Ridge, Stags' Leap Winery and Clos du Val, so you can build a three-winery afternoon without much driving.
