What it's like
Oxbow Public Market is a food hall in the Oxbow District near the Napa River, with a mix of local food vendors, artisan cafes and an organic produce outlet. There is an outdoor deck with seating along the river. It is casual and busy, with plenty of grazing options under one roof.
Who it's best for
Groups that cannot agree on one cuisine, families, and anyone who wants breakfast, a quick lunch or a snack. It is also a good rainy-day browse and useful for picking up food to take home.
What to order & how to book
There is nothing to reserve: walk around, see what appeals and order from the vendors. The market's vendors include Hog Island Oyster Co. and Gott's Roadside next door. The market is open every day from 7:30 am to 9 pm, closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Parking is in lots on the north and south sides of the market, plus a shared CIA lot. Pets are not allowed inside, though service animals are welcome and leashed pets may use outdoor patios. Call (707) 226-6529 for questions.
How it fits into a day
Go for a morning coffee, a mid-day lunch, or an early evening snack on the deck. The market is a good counterweight to a day of formal tastings. If you drink at one of the wine vendors, use a rideshare.
