What it's like
Hog Island's Napa outpost is an oyster bar inside Oxbow Public Market. The shellfish comes from the company's own farm on Tomales Bay, about 50 miles west, and is delivered fresh daily. You sit at the bar or a table, order a dozen or a few, and watch the market go by.

Oyster lovers, seafood fans and anyone who wants a quick, high-quality lunch or early dinner without a reservation. It is a good stop for a pair of friends or a small group.
What to order & how to book
Start with oysters, and look at the menu for Manila clams, mussels and other regional seafood dishes. There are no reservations; seating is first come, first served, with dine-in or takeout. Hours are 11:30 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday and 11:00 am to 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday, 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Online ordering is available for takeout. The restaurant closes Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
How it fits into a day
Pair it with a stroll through Oxbow Public Market and a coffee or a glass of wine. Gott's Roadside is steps away if you have a group with different tastes. If you are drinking, take a rideshare.
