Gott's Roadside (Oxbow)

What it's like

Gott's Napa is the Oxbow-side branch of the roadside-style burger stand that has been serving the valley since 2008. You order at the counter, find a table, and wait for your number. The patios are covered and heated, there is a big-screen TV indoors, and the setup is unmistakably casual. It sits next to Oxbow Public Market, so it is easy to combine with a walk through the market.

Who it's best for

Families, groups with kids, and anyone who has been tasting wine all day and wants something simple. It is also a good fallback when the group cannot agree on dinner, since a burger menu with a California wine and beer list has something for most people. Highchairs and communal and ADA seating are available.

What to order & how to book

This is a no-reservation spot: you order at the counter or online for pickup and delivery. The classic hamburger is the obvious order, and the menu is built around locally sourced ingredients and a California-focused wine and beer selection. Check the current menu on the site before you go. Parking is free in nearby public lots, with street parking as well.

Hours at this location are 11 am to 9 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11 am to 9:30 pm Friday and Saturday.

How it fits into a day

Use Gott's for a quick lunch between downtown tastings, or as an easy dinner after a day on the road. It is next to the Oxbow Public Market and the CIA at Copia, so you can walk the market first, then eat. If you want something quieter and more composed, the restaurants along Main Street, such as Angele and Cole's Chop House, offer a different pace. Anyone drinking wine should still plan a rideshare back to the hotel.
