What it's like
This is the Napa estate of the Antinori family, set up on Atlas Peak on Soda Canyon Road. The winery, long known as Antica Napa Valley, now operates under the Antinori Napa Valley name. A visit is a private, seated tasting by reservation only, not a drop-in. You see the historic caves, hear the family story and taste in a small group.
Who it's best for
Those who want a quiet, hosted experience and are interested in the family history behind the wines. It is a good choice for a special occasion or a small group of up to ten. Guests must be 21 or older, and pets are not permitted.
What to book
The Estate Experience is $125 per person and lasts about 90 minutes. It covers an exploration of the historic caves, an overview of the family history, and a private curated tasting of four limited-production Antinori Napa Valley wines paired with light bites.
The estate offers seated tastings by reservation, Tuesday through Saturday, with two time slots, 10:00am and 2:00pm. Use the online reservation form on their site, giving your preferred date and time and party size. This is an appointment request, not an instant confirmation: the estate team replies by email. Priority is given to active members. Groups larger than ten should write to events@antinorinapavalley.com. You can also call 707.257.8700 ext. 1.
How it fits into a day
Atlas Peak is up in the hills east of Napa, so allow extra time for the winding drive up Soda Canyon Road and do not try to squeeze a tight schedule around it. A 10:00am slot followed by lunch back in Napa works well, or take the 2:00pm slot and head to dinner in Yountville afterward. Confirm your appointment before leaving, and arrange a designated driver, a rideshare or a driver-guided tour for the mountain roads.
